Walk Away from Mistreatment

from Battle Plan Hosted by Nate Battle

If we are honest with ourselves, people in this world take joy and pleasure in causing others pain. Yes, sometimes it is unintentional or related to what they had for lunch. But more often, their behavior is out of selfishness, other times out of insecurity, and too often out of meanness and spite from those who have not faced or healed from the wounds inflicted on them. It is easier to be mean than to heal from our wounds. For these reasons, we are best served not to take anything personally, as doing so grants the permission others need to inflict emotional pain and harm. Equally as important is to rise above the fray of vileness and never stoop down to their level of mistreating others intentionally. That has a price far too high, that must be repaid, with interest.
