Warm drives
from Silvio Vinci Hosted by Silvio Vinci
Warm drives on an empty road, sun went down an hour ago. Got the window open wide, nothing here but time to ride. Old white lines beneath my wheels, every mile knows how it feels. Left some words back in that town, some things rise, some things go down. Warm drives, carry me slow, don’t need to know where I’m gonna go. Warm drives, under fading light, keep that engine rolling through the night. Radio’s playing something low, a broken voice from long ago. I don’t know the singer’s name, but every word still burns the same. [Break – almost spoken] Maybe I was wrong… Maybe she was too… Funny how the road makes a liar tell the truth. Warm drives, carry me slow, there ain’t nowhere I really have to go. Warm drives, morning in my eyes, leave the past sleeping where the old road dies. Warm drives… warm drives… Keep rolling.
