I discussed how that, unlike in our more recent history, this can happen with two people who genuinely can still like one another but through subtle or intense neglect fall out of love. This is truly one of the most unfortunate things I see in my line of work. Abuse is more easily validating to end a relationship than the slow creep of neglect.
