We Are All Equal

I went into meditation on the seventh nightFull of frustrations about a variety of people and eventsAnd like the previous nightsWhether deep meditation, or surface sittingAfter my chime rangI received a message, clear as a bell:We are all equal. All of us. Seriously.You can see my resistance to it was built into its structure.It’s so hard to hold this thoughtWhen you’re certain many people are behaving very poorly.But it doesn’t mean it isn’t true.There’s a line in A Course In MiraclesWhere Jesus saysAnd I paraphrase, but I’m close:I have nothing you don’t have. God gives to All Equally.The difference between us Now, is that I have Nothing Else.That blew my mind.Instead of reaching to develop our divine natureExcavating the layers on top of our inherent divinityI liked that reorientation very muchAnd i felt it explained all of the discomfort i feltAbout philosophy’s “problem of evil”It’s the mud atop the golden buddhaTaken as a whole, this week of messagesClearly invited a softer way of livingSetting down my pictures of what success looks likeBeing open to learning moreTo trust myself, and not criticize othersTo be flexibleTo be patientAnd to get off the ladder of judgment and comparisonThe constant measurement of who’s rightAnd where we standWe stand togetherEven if we’re falling apartBecause the truth is, we’re moving in rhythmsJust like the elements all around usCombining successfully and catastrophicallyAnd moving on to the next iterationCreation itself is creating through usAnd through everything else, simultaneously.We all have had the experience of something we thought wrongEnding up being rightWe can offer that grace preemptively to everythingWhen we recognize the Divine in AllThis 7th messagePrimed me for the work of Paul SeligWhose Guides are very adamantAbout the holiness of everythingAnd that what keeps us from it is simplyDenial of the DivineTo deny the divine in another is to deny it in yourselfWe don’t have to approve of someoneTo recognize they’re part of the same mystery we areAnd that goes for situations, actions and eventsThe edict is everywhereDo unto others as you would have them do unto youThe Tao nurtures all things equallyAll humans are considered equal in the eyes of AllahThe fastest way to recognize your own divine nature, is to recognize everyone else’sBecause we are all equalAnd we all have our role to playAnd none of us is in chargeNone of usAnd when I remember thatI can look at the craziness in the worldOr in my lifeAnd remember the elementsSwirling, combiningForming and unforming lifeThe sun shines on all of usEqually This is a public episode.
