We Have The Iran Deal Text - And It's Worse Than We Thought

from Mallen Baker: Faultlines · host Mallen Baker

When Iran sent over its first list of demands to the Trump Administration, it was reportedly treated with derision - hopelessly unrealistic. And yet, every time when revised versions were being swapped, the Iranian demands remained - exactly the same. Now we have the final memorandum of understanding text - an earlier draft published by CNN, and literally just a couple of hours ago, the official version released by the White House. And it seems to be more or less every Iranian demand in full. UPDATE: An amended segment of the Strait of Hormuz was shot for this video, as it was the main point of substance that had changed between the two versions. Other differences exist however, and the wording on the Iran nuclear commitment is clarified to include procurement of nuclear weapons, not just development of them. But the CNN draft was the one that was digitally signed by Trump and the Iranian leadership, although the amended one will be signed on Friday.
