Week 25 - Cakes - Sueño Portugues

It was a weird week shifting between a lack of focus and a couple of short runs of hyperfocus. I started a d&b tune on Sunday night, got uptight about it by Tuesday, then pivoted late in the week after a friend told me that MPC received a version 3.9 update. I doodled out the MPC drums at 130 and then brought everything into Logic for some additional flavors. The pad is a straight drop in from a sample pack. The acid patch came out of Analog Lab. The e-piano is Zenology. The vocal is from Riya's Loopmasters. The zaps and bloops and little bass stabs are all sample pack one shots. There was/is a huge amount of low end on the MPC kick. That forced the other bass (gforce SEM) into a bit of a supporting role. Overall, this was a somewhat cliched trance/prog effort, but I liked the groove. It needs work to get a professional polish, but I am pleased with the compositional bones. It was also nice to sequence something out into a full song for once. 2026 Copyright All rights reserved
