I just wanted to play with some distorted guitar sounds and then I for some reason started thinking about bugs and this thing just came out.  Uh, hope you're not too bothered by creepy crawlies. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ In the hot damp air a current swirled Lost somewhere deep in the insect world Sprouting legs and antennae and wings Thunder crashed sought shelter from the storm Held my breath and dove into the swarm Where I can't be reached by anything Bees buzzing as crickets chirp near the termite mounds Red ants are burrowing into the swampy ground Grasshoppers jumping around in the scraggly weeds Gnats flying under the tree where the mantis feeds Starting to feel more at home in this strange place Never was really much more than an insect Writhing and wriggling around as a hornet flies Gazing at vast fields of view through my compound eyes Beetles and ticks crawl along through the undergrowth Towards where the butterfly queen takes her sacred oath Watching the ladybugs dance in the flowerbed Dodging mosquitoes that whirl all around my head Hear all the cicadas sing out their droning song Legions of colorful moths flap their wings along Letting go of myself joined with the hive mind I don't miss miss my old life at all I'm living up to my fullest potential here In the insect world's sprawl2026 Creative Commons Copyright All rights reserved
