Week 25 - evanericksonmusic - Getting Up

Well, I thought this project turned out pretty cool. Lots of experimentation with a subdued style, my first time working with my friend to play bass on the track, first time mixing in Logic, and more practice with vocaloid (most lyrics moving forward will be Japanese translations of a poem book of someone I knew online who died from my disease recently). This started off with a sample from Barrister Plong (who generously donated two dozen guitar samples), and I tried to squeeze as much variation out of it as I could. For those of you thinking “evAn wRitEs jAzzz?!?” that piano sample at the end is a performance of a song I wrote 3 years ago. Slicing it up revealed a very fun speakeasy feel that I felt the song naturally wanted to change into. Plus, I think it gives this song a cool structure. Both halves of this song I enjoy for different reasons. I am excited to bring it to my next mixing lesson, as I think there is a lot of room for learning in this track. 2026 Copyright All rights reserved
