Week 33 - AiDeRen - Nucumbiafado (feat. NickLong)

Written entirely on Dirtywave M8 Tracker Light mastering in Audacity (normalizing/limiting/compressing). A continuation of last week's track's outro, whose intro was the previous week's outro, whose intro was the previous week's outro, whose... This track is thus part of an ongoing series started in week 4, you can listen to the Through the Year mix (WB #4-33) (as of week 33, it is 59 minutes long). First and foremost, this track was done this time with the secret collaboration of... NickLong! Nick graciously provided the stems of his track Cumbia Fado, after I left him a comment that I "would love to do a meaner remix of this". This counts as the first time I've done a real remix like this. Usually I would just sample a song, taking little snippets and ignoring the harmony or structure of the original track. Here, the goal was to stay close to the original material and be more obvious, making it recognizable to listeners familiar with Nick's track. And boy, how hard it was! Doing this felt like walking knee-deep in mud, not that the track wasn't inspiring, but because staying faithful to a track and trying to make it yours can be a daunting task, but in the end it taught me a lot. Nick, thank you very much for this opportunity, your trust and your support each day I showed you how the track was progressing.
