Week 33 - Celio_Morya - Not a Circle - Shadows Rise

This week I somehow found my way into the deep hypnotic techno rabbit hole — with my usual bad habit of mixing things that probably shouldn’t be mixed. 😅 But this time I really tried to behave and stay reasonably close to the style. I’ve been heavily inspired lately by Rene Wise and the way he builds that dark, stripped-back, hypnotic energy, so his work was definitely somewhere in the back of my head while making this. “Shadows Rise” is a dark and powerful little journey into the more obscure side of things — shadows rising through electronics, heavy grooves, and a slightly unhealthy amount of low end. I had a lot of fun making this one. Actually, I spent less time making the track than trying to master it. 😂 I think I eventually found a good balance. I even had to export the MP3 at -2 dB True Peak, because the MP3 codecs were apparently having a small existential crisis and pushing the final level higher than expected. Anyway… I think I ended up with something big, dark, slightly ridiculous, and quite fun to listen to.
