Week 33 - Continuous Nonlinearities - Fumbled

First song recorded on my new setup, a Zoom L-20, which I'm still figuring out the ideosyncracies of. I feel like the preamps are a bit weird in comparison to my previous recorder, the Zoom HD-16, where everything sounded exactly like what I was expecting - with the L-20 I feel like the midrange is maybe a bit hollow? Or maybe there's some setting up I need to do to get it right. Several ideas here, but I think I needed to work on all of them more. My mix is a bit wonky (which I'll only partially blame on new equipment), my composition doesn't use its parts as well as it could, structure is pretty haphazard, etc. I'll try again with some of these ideas probably and hopefully do a better job. Key idea for me was that I wanted to make something a bit Wax Trax!-ish, and to that end my core drum samples were taken from a Kawai R-100 that I have barely used but decided to get some recordings from the other day, and my bass is an actual note from my bass that I've sequenced. The bass is super-loud and the drums are kind of hidden and have too much treble bite though, I'm not sure what I did. :/ Eh, I'll try these ideas again, hopefully better. I like my staccato synth bit (from my Prophet 6), but I didn't develop what it does enough. There's a Tonverk bit but it's not developed much either. And the guitar, eh. It doesn't really fit the Wax Trax! vibe, probably should've gone in a different direction. If I'd given myself more time there should be some vocals or samples or something, but I did not!
