Week 40 - Xjs - Incubus Incubator

Wow, you're going to love this. I love this. A lot of editing to get the timing right, I wasn't as good in time in all places as I wanted. But since I couldn't sing the whole chorus in one go anyway because I always ran out of breath, I had to paste it together anyway :) It occurred to me this week that the words »incubus« and »incubator« have the same etymology (»incubō«, ~nightmare) and so a track was born. Most of the lines allude to something that's in the Wikipedia article on incubi, or what I remembered from NetHack. A major, 80bpm. Vocals double-tracked or panned for the different takes to come out a little. Btw I have a LOT of outtakes where I tried to sing the verses but ran out of breath. › Lyrics‹ Lyrics Coming in your sleep, in your dream, I'm your night mare Emotion in the night, a guitar and your light hair A room to fit you in, tingeling, make you crazy A feeling of mirage, feeling good, kind of hazy Father to a child, hybrid child, turn a wizard A champion out of myth, son of kings in the desert Visions in the dark, kind of moist, paralysed Lying in the reach of the incubus incubator Sleeping in the zone of the incubus incubator Listen to the sound of the incubus incubator Witness your dreams in the incubus incubator Look into the void of the incubus incubator Turn around and run from the incubus incubator There is no escape from the incubus incubator Incubate incubi in the incubus incubator Who can trust the storys and the tales of incubi Is it really true that they cause nocturnal fury Were it all mistakes from a long misunderstanding Or is there true a core, a different kind of standing? All throughout the time, we have heard of the matter So I would be inclined to believe in the latter One way to find out, let us hatch some, breed some Warming in the womb of the incubus incubator Growing in the shadow of the incubus incubator Forming in the centre of the incubus incubator Crazyness condensed in the incubus incubator Lying in the reach of the incubus incubator Sleeping in the zone of the incubus incubator Listen to the sound of the incubus incubator Witness your dreams in the incubus incubator Look into the void of the incubus incubator Turn around and run from the incubus incubator There is no escape from the incubus incubator Incubate incubi in the incubus incubator Incubate incubi in the incubus incubator Incubate incubi in the incubus incubator Incubate incubi, incubate incubi Incubate incubi, incubate incubi Incubate incubi in the incubus incubator Incubate incubi in the incubus / Incubate incubi in the incubus incubator Incubate incubi in the incubus incubator Incubate incubi in the in-cubus in-cu-ba-tor Ah-hah 2026 CC Attribution Noncommercial Share Alike (BY-NC-SA)
