Week 43 - Jackmsimpson - Better Days
from WeeklyBeats.com - Music RSS Feed Hosted by Jackmsimpson
Another week where I start writing/recording at 9pm on Sunday! Lyrics I wrote in the car yesterday morning, with no idea how they would fit into a song... a panicked hour later, and voila - a song. Pretty rough and ready - vocals need some attention, but this is what I can get out in the time. More of a country rock vibe here... got to noodle a bit on the guitar and left them in scattered throughout the track. Super simple four chord bash throughout, nothing flash or clever I'm afraid. crazy levels of compression. compression everywhere. this is NOT a good mix, but it is what it is! Here's hoping to dedicating more time to this in the coming week - I could do with finishing off some half written ideas, but I generally find those more difficult when in a rush! Anyway - have a lovely week! Lyrics: You were halfway to death when I met you Drinking yourself to an early grave Swimming in debt your parents left you Wishing you had a chance to make it Keeping your cards close to your chest Not knowing who you could really trust Pushing out the help you needed Watching your life turn into rust There are always better days They must feel a life time away Holding on just to be saved Hold on to that dying flame It was your brother who had found you You had 23 missed calls They had to come and bust the door down He was the one who'd tried it all You said you never really try it You didnt think you had the guts And as the paramedics arrived You had to hold your eyes shut There are always better days They must feel a life time away Holding on just to be saved Hold on to that dying flame Its hard to plan ahead When you cant help looking back The things that are holding you down Are the memories of your past And if you can never let go of it If it has a vise like grip Then its never gonna leave you No way of coming up for air You'll go down with your sinking ship There are always better days They must feel a life time away Holding on just to be saved Hold on to that dying flame 2026 CC Attribution Noncommercial Share Alike (BY-NC-SA)
