First, Renowned physicist and author of the book Silencing Science, Shaun Hendy joins RadioLIVE's Graeme Hill. Shaun gives a fascinating insight into some scandals that have rocked, and still worry the world of physics. He tells the story of the Schon controversy, unsolved to this day. Did this physicist just make up stuff hoping to be proven right in the near future and by doing so claim firsty-pops? A first class science institute in India is claiming some weird stuff but nobody is answering the phone. Whats going on? A fierce competition between two research teams on how water actually freezes might have been better off working together. Then Astronomer Dr Grant Christie joins Graeme Hill to talk the latest in astronomy news. This week Dr Grant Christie describes the Chinese Change mission to soft-land on the far side of the moon, but why are they taking silk-worm moths and potatoes? Are there detectable signs of interference from another universe in this universe? Some astronomers think maybe yes. Slight echoes of black holes from parallel universes may explain some strangeness observable in the cosmic microwave background radiation. Why does our Earth, and heaps of other stuff out there rotate and why are we tilted at 23 degrees? Finally, Graeme and Grant explore massive glowing aurorae on the poles of Saturn and its mysterious hexagon thing, which is yet to be satisfactorily explained.
