In our bible study this week, we continued our discussion beginning in Colossians chapter 4 vs 2 through the end. In this section, Paul gives some final encouragements, instructions and then greetings from himself and others with him. Paul mentions a man named Onesimus who happens to be an important character in the next letter we will discuss, the letter to Philemon. Philemon was a wealthy Roman citizen of Colossae who we learn has a church meeting at his home. He also has bondservants one of which is/was Onesimus… Paul is entreating on behalf of Onesimus for Philemon to take him back, but not as a bondservant, but as a brother… #bible #biblereading #gospel #colossians #philemon
