The Premier League is looking to capitalize off the World Cup boom in the United States with their coast-to-coast watch parties for the opening weekend. Does this invasion from abroad come at the expense of American soccer or does the league’s self-promotion also lift American clubs? Robert and Jason discuss. Mexico, meanwhile, is trying to move closer to its American cousins. Liga MX temporarily suspended promotion and relegation during the Covid pandemic to help save costs and is now taking steps to make that suspension permanent. Mexico’s owners are getting together to alter the governance of the league that will keep all 18 of them in the top flight forever while protecting their profit margins. The Massachusetts Supreme Court has cleared the way for construction to proceed at the historic stadium.
