We’re On a Ride

I believe something big is happeningQuantumProbably galactic, but definitely planetaryAnd I believe humans are a part of itBut just a partSpecifically, I believe that for all of our destructive and extractive behaviorsHumans are not fully responsible for the change we’re undergoingI believe there’s so much more at playThis soothes my nervous systemBecause the Mystery is very life-positiveI picture it as if we’re on an airplane togetherHumanityAnd we are flying from where we were to where we’re goingThe itinerary is set, and we’ve agreed to travelI truly believe that as a speciesWe’re embarking on this journey towards deeper connection and careBut we’re not there yetAnd the current flight air is turbulentAnd we’ve got a ways to goBut how we spend this flight is up to usAnd it’s meaningfulIt will forge the quality of our experienceThough not our destinationWe can spend our time worrying over every bumpOr we can distract ourselves with moviesWe can sleep or read or write lettersWe can chat with the person next to usOr air grievances to the stewardessAll of our behavior on this flightIs up to us, each individuallyAs we make our way towards someplace none of us has ever beenSo, right now, I’m choosing to meditate a lot on this flightTo settle my attention into awarenessOf my body, of the life around me, of this momentBut, I should be honestI spent the first part of the flight at the barThose tiny bottles were just so easy to drinkI might have gotten a little loudAnd spent a lot of time and attention sketching out plansTo make the world more like i wanted it to beMy next leg of the journey was in the infirmaryWhere there were many caring peopleTo help deal with my pain and confusionAnd dontcha know this plane has a chapelAnd I’ve cloistered myself in there, tooIt’s been quite a long rideAnd it’s nowhere near overBut we do get to choose how we spend this timeAnd we probably each will have many chaptersAll sorts of ways we prepare for our landingWe’re having a simultaneously individual and shared experienceAnd if we care for ourselves and each other tenderlyProviding emotional dramamine as necessaryWe can’t make the plane go fasterBut we can improve the quality of our rideWhether we hear it or notThe vibrations of our individual actionsAre writing our songBy the end, perhaps we’ll be singing in harmonyWe are being led, guided, transported and shepherdedTo a new landscape and languageWe’re in transition, and this time in between is importantOur learning to care for ourselves and relate to each otherIs an amazing way to spend this timeSo that as we arriveWe’ll be settled in ourselvesConnected to each otherHaving bonded on our shared journeyReady to step forth into WonderBecause that’s where we Belong This is a public episode.
