What do you do when you doubt yourself?

from The Nicola Moras Show · host Nicola Moras

I remember going back to 2010 when I was starting out in this business.. living in our old house. I was full of dreams - feeling like a genie in the lamp. Too big for the lamp but couldn’t find my way out.(10,000 years will give you such a crick in the neck!!! WAs the cry of the genie as it came tumbling out of the lamp!!!!). This was how I felt after getting past my self doubt and paralysis inaction. One of the things that I would do instinctively back then was to clean the house, in particular I would vacuum our plush carpet it so the lines it were uniform through the whole house. It was so satifisyfing - and yes, borderline OCD!!! But it made me feel better. It made me feel like I could concentrate and like I could get on with the job in hand. I was riddled with self doubt but a whole lot of desire. Yet, sometimes the self doubt would be crippling and would create such havoc in my head that I would just feel like I had to ‘tools down’ and go and find something else to do. From all the coaching and mentoring I’ve done in the past, I have heard this over and over again, where even though you know what you ‘should’ be doing, you might have a big enough ‘why’, you might even have all the tools already… sometimes it can feel like it’s really tough to do the thing you need to do. Beating yourself up only gets you so far as well, right? This morning on The Coffee Run Ep506 we talked about how to move from self doubt and into motivated mode!! There are four key ‘gate ways’ if you like, that help you to shift the needle from feeling doubtful to excited and motivated. 1. Sensory motivated 2. Learning / studying 3. movement 4. emotional Jump on the replay and let me know the order that works for YOU! I like to try to get all 4 of these done as quickly as I can each day - I need to clear the path and make way for the magic to come on through!!! x
