What do you want for yourself? In this podcast, I give a storytime about knowing what I wanted, what showed up and How I altered that course of action. In clinical neuroscience, they use the term "background," meaning they start with the background before they get down to qualitative and quantitative tests; the background is about the person, their job, education, family life, identity, etc. So to know what you want, you need to provide background... Why do I want this? Why don't I want this? Where did this knowledge come from? In my case, the person I was with was an old narrative; they fed the broken child in me that continued to live like I did when I was a kid. They provoked me to no end, and still to date. But you know what separates the old me from the new me? I have grown in myself; I looked at my background vs who I want to be. If I want to live in a toxic miserable place, he is the one.
