What Drives Destructive Habits in the Youth of America Today?

from The SatsMate Stack · host Paul SatsMate

Hey Satsmate Stackers, We are seeing a growing number of young people become increasingly disillusioned about their future as time goes on. Many of the youth today are turning to drugs, alcohol, dopamine addictions, and more. In this podcast, I discuss my thoughts on what drives the destructive habits of young people in America today, while also addressing potential solutions. You don’t have to look far to see that our youth has done many things that can be considered destructiveMany of the youth are doing things to fill the void that are harmful to themselves in the long runAlcohol, Marijuana, Vaping, and PornographyGambling, Binge Drinking, Substance Abuse, and Social Media AddictionAddiction to screens, video games, and electronics seems to be getting more extreme as time goes onFor many youth, they see the cost as everything, the lack of opportunities, and many think I will just devolveWhy work 50 hours a week, to not even get a fraction of what my parents/grandparents' generation had? Many even go as far as to have an existential nihilism, and just give up all altogetherI think many give up and devolve because they don’t see a way upHow can we fix this? I think we need better education, cheaper education, and more hands-on training at an earlier ageWe need people not to take the prescribed path that others have pushed onto usThe freedom to choose alternate jobs, reject traditional ways that have been pushed on usYoung people need hope, and some engage with these habits because of a lack of hope for the future or faith in themselvesWe need more religion, more third places, and more constructive uplifting habitsMore opportunities to learn, to grow, without paying an arm and a legIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment.
