What Entered Me When I Entered the Haunted House?
from Life Reassembled Podcast l Healing • Identity • Whole-Life Transformation · host Julie Renee - Life Coach l Trauma Surviver l Single Mom
In this episode of Life Reassembled, I revisit the lasting spiritual impact from when I entered a haunted house a young kid. I also talk about the time I was standing toe-to-toe with a life-size doll. All these events opened the spiritual door for the spirit of fear to penetrate in my life in an unseen (and sometimes seen) spiritual influence that bled out throughout my life. As we explore this experience, let's question how society normalizes witchcraft, glamorizes horror, and even idolizes serial killers as entertainment. We’ll look at what that says about our culture — and about the spirits we unknowingly welcome in the name of “fun.” Through personal reflection and biblical truth, we’ll confront the uncomfortable reality that some of us have become our own haunted houses — carrying spiritual residue from past experiences, people, and practices. Let’s re-assemble halloween and the true horror behind it. “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” — 1 Peter 5:8 In this episode of Life Reassembled, we’re exposing a subtle but could be a dangerous deception that’s slipped into the church — one that looks innocent, even sweet, on the surface. From harvest festivals to candy giveaways, we’ve allowed a sliver of deception to shape how we reach children and families — copying the world’s tactics to seem more appealing, while forgetting Who we represent. When we compromise truth for comfort, or mimic the world’s methods to draw a crowd, we step onto dangerous ground. The devil disguises himself in light- and when we don't expose him, he will remain there. This conversation challenges us to think differently about “harmless fun,” cultural conformity, and what true discernment looks like in a generation craving truth, not sugar-coated substitutes. Let’s re-assemble our faith without compromising.
