Recently, in Australia, Facebook shut down all news sites for eights days. Eight days of not being able to access any news via Facebook. If you went to a news site page – like NBN Television or the Sydney Morning Herald, all the posts on their pages had disappeared with a message reading ‘No Posts Yet’. Though Facebook has now re-instated all the news sites, the ban got some of us thinking, what if social media ended altogether?
