Inflammation is what the body does to protect itself to heal when there is an injury. The problem arises when it becomes chronic because it leaves the body in a persistent state of alertness. This can lead to cancer, stroke, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and more.

This chronic inflammation can gets worse when you have visceral or abdominal fat because the fat cells can produce chemicals leading to inflammation.
