What is My Purpose? 6 Years Later It Became Obvious | Cristy Abbott | Hilary Burns | S7EP21

Cristy Abbott was always connected to the earth. As a young girl, running through the fields was her escape from an abusive family life. After having a baby in high school, Cristy focused on raising her daughter. She composted and always had a garden. At around age 40, Cristy screamed out loud, WHAT IS MY PURPOSE? Six years later it came to her loud and clear: Work harmoniously with nature - we are all connected.Through synchronicities, Cristy was introduced to permaculture - permanent agriculture. She got certified and started teaching it to others. Her original book study group grew from 4 people to 400 in Florida. She led many projects in the St. Petersburg area. Cristy is passionate about our ecosystems and regenerating our soil. We are stewards of the earth, she says. She has now branched out to Africa, where she is creating leaders in soil regeneration and sustainability.Thank you, Cristy, for your amazing dedication and commitment to our planet and permaculture.Cristy Abbott is a Certified Permaculture Educator, Practitioner and Consultant who shares her knowledge with children and adults, alike in Permaculture Ethics and Principles for over a decade. She is experienced in regenerative farming practices, urban agriculture, soil building, and seed saving. Cristy currently volunteers at Sweetwater Organic Community Farm - a nonprofit, community supported urban organic farm and environmental education center in Tampa, FL. She is passionate about educating people on the topics of biodiversity and the relationships between soil, plants, animals, and planetary patterns as they relate to the process of farming.Cristy has been involved in developing and operating many large and small-scale community gardens and farms, and is passionate about community building and cooperative housing. In fact, she was on a team of leaders that founded the Faith House Community Garden in St. Petersburg, FL in 2010. The garden received attention from the Sustainable Urban Agriculture Coalition (SUAC) and is now called the 15th St AgriHub (also known as the St. Pete Eco Village). This community garden, on the edge of downtown St Petersburg is a Permaculture demonstration site to provide education and hands-on experience. Her students have gone on to create projects such as the Tampa Bay Time Bank, rainwater catchment systems, yoga training, community co-housing, and other community-building projects consistent with Permaculture ethics.Find Cristy on YouTube: Cristy Abbott.Join her weekly educational seminars and listen to her already posted videos. For more information, please visit:https://thepermacultureguild.com/https://www.linkedin.com/in/cristy-abbott-18728457/https://www.youtube.com/@cristyabbott6109_______________________________________Hilary's Website: https://www.gettingrealwithhilary.com/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GettingRealWithHilary Spotify: https://shorturl.at/pQY68 iTunes: https://shorturl.at/qyTZ3 BBS Radio: https://bbsradio.com/thegettingrealwithhilaryshowE360tv: bit.ly/TGRWHS#HilaryBurns #GettingRealWithHilary #TheGettingRealWithHilaryShow #CristyAbbott #Permaculture #RegenerativeAgriculture #Sustainability #SoilHealth #UrbanFarming #CommunityGardens #EnvironmentalEducation #OrganicFarming #SoilRegeneration #SeedSaving #Biodiversity #ClimateAction #SustainableLiving #CommunityBuilding #PurposeDrivenLife #PersonalGrowth #NatureConnection #Ecology #PlanetaryHealth #RegenerativeLiving #EcoVillage #CommunityLeadership #FoodSystems #EarthStewardship #EnvironmentalAwareness #ConsciousLiving #SustainableAgriculture #PermacultureDesign #UrbanAgriculture #FaithHouseCommunityGarden #SweetwaterOrganicFarm #SelfDiscovery #HealingThroughNature #Podcast #EnvironmentalPodcast
