What is Pet abuse?
from Hope when there was none Hosted by Melinda Kunst
Abuse can take many forms and can be used against someone you love. That someone may be your pet. Abusers know how to get to you and harming or threatening something you love is usually the number one weapon used to keep you in line. On today's #TeachableTuesday I dive into the topic of animals and abuse. Here are links that I referred to in this video- https://awionline.org/content/safety-planning-pets-domestic-violence-victims https://awionline.org/content/facts-and-myths-about-domestic-violence-and-animal-abuse https://safehavensforpets.org/ Someone out there needs to know they are not alone and that they can survive. Perhaps you are a parent or friend of someone trapped in an abusive relationship and need to know how to help. My goal is to share awareness, offer empowerment, and educate others about emotional traumas and domestic abuse. Here I will share my story and also stories of courage and healing from Survivors, Coaches, to Therapists/Counselors.
