from The Truth Will Make You Free | Freedom in Christ Scripture Study Hosted by John | Bible Teaching on Faith without bias
To overcome sin we must first understand it. What it is. What it does. The root causes. And also what it is NOT. The effects and impacts of it. Overcoming any problem requires insight. When a person comes to Christ they are seeking a better life, free from sin. Often they have been overwhelmed by the problems caused by or through sin, and they want out. But to escape the defilements of sin they need to first understand the nature of this enemy. We will look at how to defeat sin through Jesus Christ, and how to gain the victory over the things that lead to sin. But first we need to understand sin for what it is.
