In 26th Velvi discourse, Gurumahan speaks about Vaikunda Ekadashi and the 11th Gateway Meaning of Ekadashi: "Ekadashi" is made of two words: Ekam meaning "one" and Dasham meaning "ten," representing the eleventh. It refers to the eleventh gateway. The Gateways of the Human Body: Traditionally, the human body has nine gateways: two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, one mouth, and two lower orifices (for reproduction and excretion). The tenth gateway is the navel (Nabhi). The eleventh gateway is a hidden, small gateway that is actually the greatest gateway for a human. It is located at the crown of the head, where the two sides of the brain meet. This is spiritually referred to as "Thillai Chitrambalam" (the consciousness space). The Flow of Energy: The divine energy (Brahma Shakti or Atma Shakti) present in this crown space descends downwards. This descent of energy is called Avarohanam. In Yoga, this energy descends from the top to the base for the purpose of evolutionary growth. The ultimate goal and the highest state of human life is to raise this descended energy back upward to the crown gateway. This is the transcendent and supreme state of human existence.
