This BYU Education week talk was given originally on August 10, 2010 by Brent L. Top. Brent was a former professor at BYU and has written many books addressing  the doctrines surrounding death and the Spirit World. Some wonder what happens when we die or to those we love. This talk points to several Latter Day Saint doctrinal, documented sources, that we can not only rely on, but begin our journey to understanding the world beyond.Q: What happens when we die, according to LDS doctrine? A: Latter-day Saint doctrine teaches that at death the spirit leaves the body and enters the spirit world, a place of continued existence, learning, and reunion with loved ones, where we await the resurrection.
