It seems like an overwhelmingly big word, but in reality, everyone CAN be a trauma informed yoga teacher, and everyone SHOULD be a trauma informed yoga teacher. One in four participants in a yoga class is likely to have survived trauma, and we have no idea who they may be in our classes. They may have experienced sexual assault, physical assault, abuse as a child, or even complex trauma such as narcisstic abuse survivors. Major trauma aside, in reality, everyone carries some level of stress, sadness and grief within them. As trauma-informed yoga teachers, we can make sure we create a safe space for all yoga students.
