In this weeks two part series we discussed the importance of aligning your life according to Gods law which is his word. The focus scripture was Galatians 5:16. As believers, we are called to live in the Spirit, to pray in the Spirit, and to walk in spirit and truth. As Kingdom ambassadors, we are called to live a spiritual life and not to be full of the flesh, to bear the fruit of the Spirit and not to produce our own works of the flesh, to live under grace and not under law. As disciples, we are to walk by the Spirit for in so doing, we will not carry out the desires of the flesh. Scripture reminds us, in many places, that we can only walk by means of the Spirit when we place our lives under His full control. We can only walk in spirit and truth when we are led by the Holy Spirit of truth and guided by His Word of truth. To live the spiritual life that God requires of all His children, means that we should be willing to submit to His will and authority in every situation we meet... that in all our day-by-day dealings, we remain submissive to His leadings and obedient to His corrections - that we trust His Word, listen to His voice, and depend on Him alone - not relying on our own human abilities, actions, intuition, and strength, but doing only those things that we hear from Him. Cross Connection Music Is The Soundtrack Of Our Lives! Each week on "Cross Connection" we play a secular song from the 60's & 70's that has either Christian lyrics or principles directly related to the Scriptures. We then discuss the author and/or artist(s) and the song.We look into the lyrics of each song - relating it to the time in which it was originally played on the radio and what, if any, meaning it has today. We make a "Cross Connection" to each song and relate the lyrics to the "timeless" principles taught in God's word. At times, we part theological company with those who might use their talents in music to deny God's word. We always do our best to point that out on the program. In all, we hold true to the Word without compromise! Pope Pius the Tenth Frances Alice Forbes Pope Saint Pius X (2 June 1835 – 20 August 1914), born Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto, was Pope from 4 August 1903 to his death in 1914. He was the first pope since Pius V (1566 to 1572) to be canonized. St. Pius X is known for vigorously opposing modernist interpretations of Catholic doctrine, promoting traditional devotional practices and orthodox theology. His most important reform was to publish the first Code of Canon Law, which collected the laws of the Church into one volume for the first time. He was also considered a pastoral pope, in the sense of encouraging personal holiness, piety and a daily lifestyle reflecting deep Christian values. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia)
