In this Episode: It's difficult for solo inventors. ** Small networks. ** It's okay to step away and question what you are doing. ** Is it worth it? Is it what you want it to be? ** I go back to the fallacy of the safety net. ** It's important to plan for the future and what that means to you. ** You can literally game theory out some of your decisions. ** You could always go get a regular job. ** Certain people should never do this. ** There are no guarantees. Look at November 2008 when some people lost everything. ** Of course the idea of a financial windfall matters but it is not the only thing. ** It's the journey not the destination. ** You have to be self-aware. You are the company. ** You have to decide what is important to you. ** You are going to have long nights, failures and setbacks. ** A lot of times what you want out of life doesn't match up with what you are trying to build. ** If you are waiting for a moment to be happy in life, it is never going to happen. ** Every year I set goals for myself. ** You have to learn to enjoy the journey. ** I set unattainable goals for myself. ** You often have to adjust your goals and be realistic. ** Don't get bogged down in the day-to-day failures. Look at the bigger picture. ** Be realistic about what your responsibilities are. ** Having a team helps but it is up to you. ** You have to be the driving force behind your business. ** Raising funds doesn't decrease your workload or responsibilities. ** We are so tired of hearing the bs. ** Mistakes trying to bring a product to market. ** Legacy and personal mission. ** Please support our sponsor Peoplease.
