What We Learned
Too Late

from The Inside Straight

Agencies experience decision avoidance through rework. A direction is agreed, design or development begins and a stakeholder later claims the output is not what was intended. The agency is asked why it did not foresee the change. Episode 9 shows why strong process must connect change to consequence. Written validation, sign-off and an agreed change route protect both parties. A new request should trigger a decision about budget, timing, scope or quality, not become invisible agency effort. The agency also needs to recognize when the project is carrying a problem it cannot solve. If the client’s business case, leadership alignment or people decision remains unresolved, more brand and digital work may only postpone the confrontation. A trusted agency can say that the requested output will not fix the underlying issue. A responsible client can hear that warning before the relationship is damaged.
