What’s Up w/Stocks, Cryptos, Gold & Silver? July 20th, 2026

Stocks were slightly lower last week as many AI-connected tech companies, especially highflying semiconductor companies, continued to correct from record price runups in previous months. Aside from normal market correction price action, there is increased concern in the AI-space about China’s AI and chip companies catching and potentially surpassing American companies. Specifically, Chinese AI company Moonshot, released a new AI model last week that’s said to rival the performance of OpenAI and Anthropic’s top performing models.
