What's Your Why? /// Summer on the Mount Pt. 5

Matthew 6:1–18 challenges us to examine why we pursue God, reminding us that our faith should be rooted in a genuine desire to know and honor Him rather than impress others. Jesus calls us to lose the audience, letting go of the need for recognition and choosing to live for an audience of One. We are also invited to talk to God, not at God, approaching prayer as a genuine relationship and conversation with our Father rather than simply repeating words or going through religious motions. Finally, fasting is not simply about what we give up—it is about seeking God, drawing closer to Him, and allowing Him to transform our hearts.
