He knew Jesus did not deserve what the crowd demanded, yet he allowed public pressure to influence his actions. Courage is easy to claim when nothing is at stake. Its true test comes when doing what is right may cost us approval, comfort, safety, or even our lives.As we remember September 11, we honor the innocent lives taken and the families whose lives were changed forever. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, service members, passengers, and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable fear.On one of our nation’s darkest days, we witnessed terrible evil—but we also witnessed sacrifice, compassion, service, and unity.
