When Did Immigration Become That Hill to Die On?

from Transparent Conversations · host Calvin Pierce Jr

Conservatives Always  Need a Boogeyman!Maybe it’s because I’m black and I grew up in the suburbs of Maryland right outside of Washington DC, and to say that it’s very liberal, and progressive really doesn’t do it justice. I had the honor of growing up in a diverse neighborhood. Attended diverse schools and worked for companies that welcomed diversity. I often tell people that I never experienced any racism until I went to the University of Alabama In Birmingham for college, my parents' home. It didn’t take me long to understand life in the south. The races don’t really blend down there and that’s a shame but it’s the deep south. That’s my background and having relationships with immigrants wasn’t a thing. We never worried about anyone's immigration status or if they spoke English or not. We just naturally applied the golden rule and I never noticed that undocumented immigration was the most important issue in the lives of so many Americans.Looking for a way to join the conversation, and be a part of the Independent Media boom that's beating out Mainstream media in getting the Truth out!
