When Financial Empowerment Meets Community | HDM 424

from Her Dinero Matters · host Jen Hemphill

Over the past few decade, financial empowerment has been one of the core guiding principles in my mission and business. So when the opportunity to become the Director of Financial Empowerment at Empower, a non-profit organization working with the Hispanic community in Wichita found me in late 2023 something inside me clicked. In this episode, I’ll take you to meet the incredible team behind Empower and share how this experience has re-shaped the way I think about money and community. Shall we dig in?If you’ve been listening to this podcast for a while, you know that financial empowerment lies at the heart of all I do: from the products and educational content I create to every speaking engagement or consulting call I’ve ever been involved with. However, as it happens with all the beliefs and definitions we hold dear, I never really questioned if my definition of financial had room for growth. Not until early in 2024,  life’s twists and turns put me in front of Empower, a non-profit doing grassroots work in a historically Hispanic neighborhood in Wichita. Fast forward a year (and a few months) later. If I had to summarize my experience in a few words, I would only need three words: what a ride!In today’s episode, I want to give you a full BTS into the heart of an organization that is doing incredible work for the Hispanic community and creating some real, lasting empowerment. In this episode you will learn: BTS: Meet the Empower team! How has this experience impacted my understanding of money, purpose, and financial empowerment? What my role was all about and how it has reshaped the way I think about money. For a quick recap of this episode go to https://www.jenhemphill.com/424The post, When Financial Empowerment Meets Community | HDM 424 appeared first on the Her Dinero Matters Podcast.
