When God sends Help in Unexpected Ways

In the homily, Fr Yosef tells a story of a faithful farmer, John, who declined help multiple times during a flood, believing God would save him. When he died, he asked Jesus why he wasn’t rescued. Jesus explained that He had sent help in the form of villagers, a boat, and a helicopter. This story illustrates that true faith is active, requiring us to recognize and respond to God’s help, even when it comes in unexpected forms. Fr Yosef then reflected on the readings, which reinforce this message. From Jeremiah, we learn that God is always present, gently guiding us through every situation. The reading from Hebrews reminds us that Jesus is our compassionate High Priest who understands our weaknesses and struggles, offering guidance and support rather than judgment. Most importantly, we are called to an active faith - one that seeks God’s presence in everyday moments and responds to His help, knowing He is always near. Sunday Homily by Fr.
