When Mail Theft is an Inside Job

Investigator Greg Hons from the Santa Barbara County DA's office reports that there has been a drastic increase in theft that's taking place inside mail sorting facilities. While we understand that most postal workers are honest, a small percentage are stealing--and they're stealing a lot. Criminal syndicates are recruiting postal workers to move narcotics, and to steal checks, credit cards and gift cards from the mail.
