Even less so since I grew in the era of FIFA and PES with their superfluous focus on hyper-realistic graphics and licensed mainstream music hits of the time, which never said anything to me. However, as I have older brothers and we grew up with older consoles at home I was lucky enough to know and appreciate the older and more simplistic but more charming stuff that was cooking just some years earlier. And while I still suck at sport games (the game footage moments of this video are actually CPU vs CPU!), Super Soccer (also known as Super Formation Soccer in Japan) was always different, kinda special for me. Unlike the newer, fancier soccer games, this one has actual music. A lot of these tunes are pretty catchy, with really good melodies and stuff. And the intro was especially rockin as hell. So it was a matter of time, especially since my skills as arranger got better and I'm lucky enough to count with really amazing musicians to play for me, to make something about it. And so here's it, including video with everyone personified as colorful chocobos playing around and some weird visual edits and stuff. Once again, soccer games was never my favorite kind, but I have special feelings with this particular one, and pretty fond memories of playing this with with my older brothers in the actual SNES when I was a very little kid. Sadly one of them passed away at december 2022, so I did this especially with him in mind, as he loved this game so much and I had so much of fun playing with him...
