When We are all Called to be Missionaries of Hope

from Sunday Homilies with the Redemptorists · host Novena Church

Today marks the anniversary of the Redemptorist foundation by Saint Alphonsus in 1732 and also serves as a vocation day. Fr Yosef shared his inspiring journey in Indonesia, shaped by his mother's prayers and the support of the community, while Fr Gerard recounted his own call to the Redemptorist life. Together, they discussed the Redemptorist charism to serve the poor and marginalized, drawing on today's scripture readings, and the mission, like Jesus, to bring hope and dignity to those in need. The Redemptorist charism is for everyone because God values even the smallest act of giving. We are all invited to participate in the mission, whether through vocation or community service, to bring hope and compassion to those around us. -Sunday Homily by Fr. Gerard Louis, C.Ss.R. and Fr. Yosef Andris Umbu Damu, C.Ss.R. (10 November 2024)
