When You Doubt God in Hard Seasons: Remember His Faithfulness | Christian Mom Encouragement
from The Rooted Mother | Christian Motherhood, Postpartum Healing & Biblical Encouragement · host Michelle
Have you ever found yourself wondering, “God, where are You?” when life feels completely out of control? Maybe you're praying, but nothing seems to be changing. Maybe you're struggling to trust God because your circumstances don't look anything like you expected. In this episode of The Rooted Mother, I share a deeply personal story from one of the hardest seasons of my life, a cross-country move after my husband left the Navy, my daughter's hospitalization with orbital cellulitis, an unexpected housing crisis, losing our health insurance, financial uncertainty, and the overwhelming feeling of not knowing what would happen next. But there's something I couldn't see in the middle of that storm: God was there all along. At the time, I wasn't actively following Jesus. I was already going to therapy for depression and anxiety, but my faith journey hadn't begun yet. While I was crying and wondering where God was, my mom was praying and reminding me that God would not leave us.Looking back, I can now see how God was working through that difficult season, and how my mother's prayers were planting seeds that would eventually lead me back to Jesus and into church for the first time in nearly 20 years.Inspired by Seph Schlueter's song “Won't Start Now,” this episode is a reminder that God doesn't stop being faithful just because our circumstances become difficult. We'll talk about:What to do when you start doubting GodHow to trust God when you don't understand His planWhy God's faithfulness doesn't mean an easy lifeThe power of a mother's prayerHow God can be working even when you can't see HimWhy we need to remember what God has already doneCreating a “Faithfulness List” to remind yourself of God's provisionHow Scripture can help us hold onto God's promises during difficult seasonsWe'll look at Psalm 77, Joshua 4, 2 Timothy 1:5, John 16:33, and Proverbs 3:5–6 as we talk about remembering God's faithfulness when fear and doubt get loud.If you're an overwhelmed Christian mom who is struggling to trust God right now, I hope this episode reminds you that you don't have to understand what God is doing to trust who He is.The God who was faithful then is faithful now.Sometimes, you don't recognize God's presence until you look back and realize He was there all along.Support the show✨ Free Gift for You: If mom guilt has been weighing on your heart, I've created a free printable, God's Truth vs. Mom Guilt, to help you replace the lies with God's truth.
