Peter swore that hewould never deny Jesus, but he did. And notjust once but repeatedly. Did Peter love theLord? Absolutely. But because he was weak,he turned his back on Him. What a load ofguilt to carry. No wonder he "went out andwept bitterly" (v. 62 NKJV). But Jesus knew inadvance it would happen and told Peter thatHe would be praying for him.
