Where Discernment Begins

When it comes to hearing God’s voice and discerning his direction for our lives, our tendency is often to first look outward.  In other words, we are looking for some external information that we need to help make our lives work better.  However, as Ruth Haley Barton writes, “Discernment requires, first of all, that we are able to discern matters of our own heart.”  Come and hear Pastors Jeremy and Lisa invite us to consider how vital it is in seeking discernment from God that we engage an inward journey with Him and not just seek an outer experience from Him.
