St. Albert Alliance Church

This week, as we continue our That’s Interesting series, we’ll explore the question, “What is baptism, and why is it important?” Why has the church practiced baptism for thousands of years? Why was Jesus baptized? And why do we practice believer's baptism? Baptism is an ancient practice, but it is also a deeply personal and public declaration of faith. As we look at the story of baptism from John the Baptist to the Great Commission, to baptism in the Church today, we'll consider what it means to publicly align ourselves with Jesus.

This week, as we continue our That’s Interesting series, we’ll discuss the question ‘Is the Bible outdated on relationships?’ Can we trust God's plan for us? Does God have a plan for our closest relationships? Is it good? God does have a very good plan - He has created us to connect in community, to honour, submit to, love, and serve one another in all our relationships. What does this look like? Join us as we explore God’s call to align the way we relate to those around us in our most intimate relationships and in the greater community to which we belong. This Sunday, as we continue our series, That’s Interesting, we’ll discuss the question ‘Why does a good God allow suffering?’ Suffering is a difficult subject. Jesus did not treat suffering as something to run away from or to run haphazardly towards. Jesus entered into our suffering fully when He died on the cross. Join us as we explore suffering and how Jesus meets us in its midst. If you want to read ahead, check out John 11 and Romans 8.

What does eternity look like? Answering this question is not meant to satisfy our curiosity; it’s meant to transform our priorities. Join us as we continue our series, That’s Interesting, and explore the realities of heaven and hell, and discover how those realities should shape our lives as we learn to love Jesus and further His Kingdom wherever we live, learn, work, and play.

Most of us have experienced it: the prayer we've prayed over and over again that still hasn't been answered. In Luke 11, Jesus teaches us not only how to pray, but why we can keep coming back to our Father, even when the waiting is long. Join us as we wrestle with what it means to trust God when our prayers seem to go unanswered, discover the hope that's found in His unchanging goodness, and take Communion together.

Why do Christians struggle with sin? This week, as we continue our series, That’s Interesting, we’ll spend time in Romans 6–7 and sit with Paul’s honest words: “I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it.” Together, we’ll explore the good news that sin is no longer our master, even as Jesus teaches us what it means to live as people who are truly free. Have you ever heard someone start a declaration with, "God has revealed to me..."? It's such good news that Jesus still speaks today. Yet, as we look through history, we can see times when such statements have been untrue or have even caused significant harm. So we need to take time and ask the question: whether it's coming from someone else or something we're sensing Jesus saying to us personally, how do we know if it's really God? Join us as we explore how we can discern God's voice and know if something is really from God.

This week, we conclude our series, The New Way of Life. We have spent eight weeks looking at Old Testament stories of transformation, discovering how God has redeemed, restored, and brought resurrection life not just in those stories but also in us. The story in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah zeroes in on Israel's brokenness and the restoration God brings. As Israel returns from exile, the broken temple and walls of Jerusalem are restored. However, this joyous moment does not last. Is there anything that can bring lasting restoration? Or anyone? Join us as we continue our series on The New Way of Life to find out.

This week we look at the life of Naomi in the book of Ruth, seeing how pain, loss, and suffering can reshape her identity, and, at times, our own. As part of The New Way of Life series, we’re invited to witness how God meets Naomi in her brokenness and gently restores her sense of identity. In a world searching for something solid to root ourselves in, Naomi’s story reminds us that our true identity is found in God alone.

For our next instalment of The New Way of Life, we are taking a look at the Prince of Egypt, Moses. Moses lived two-thirds of his life feeling abandoned until one day God met him through a burning bush. But this story is not just about Moses; it is also about Israel. Come discover how God brought Moses and the nation of Israel into a deeper sense of adoption and belonging. Perhaps you might find some similarities to your story as well.

Have you ever felt God asking you to do something, but you didn’t have the courage to do it? Have you ever felt like you were running from God? You’re not alone. This week, we’ll explore Jonah’s story and how God met him in the middle of his resistance, using even a storm and a fish to turn him around. Come discover how God’s mercy pursues us, invites us to turn around, and leads us into a new way of life.

This Sunday, we’re stepping into the book of Habakkuk and exploring what it looks like to move from complaint to confidence in God. Together, we’ll wrestle with honest questions, unmet expectations, and the reality that God doesn’t always respond the way we anticipate. Yet even in the tension, we’ll discover an invitation to bring our full, unfiltered selves before Him and learn to trust His voice in the waiting. Whether you’re full of faith or full of questions, this is a space to come as you are and encounter a God who hears, responds, and is still at work.

The day is finally here! The day we have been longing for. Jesus is Risen! Come, celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ with us this Easter Sunday. We are also celebrating 23 baptisms over three services as our weeping from Good Friday is replaced with celebration of the Peace Jesus brings. Jesus is alive and He is here, the one who takes away the sin of the world. Death and sin are defeated; Jesus is victorious. He is Risen!

As we approach the end of Lent, we step into the tension of Palm Sunday—a moment of celebration filled with deep misunderstanding. Spiritual gifts are not first about what we do, but about who lives in us. The Holy Spirit Himself is the true gift, and spiritual gifts are the visible expression of His presence as we surrender more fully to Him. While each of us may recognize certain gifts more clearly in our lives, the same Spirit lives in every believer, empowering ordinary people to participate in the work of Jesus beyond their natural ability. As we grow in surrender and maturity, His life flows through us to serve others, strengthen the Church, and reveal the love and power of Christ to the world.

Advent doesn’t end when the candles burn down; it begins to take shape in how we live. John says that to know God is to love others—that’s what it means to walk in the light. The darkness is passing, and the true light is already shining. Living in the light means choosing love over resentment, grace over cynicism, compassion over indifference. The light we celebrate is meant to be lived.

 This weekend is a milestone moment in the life of our church family. We are thrilled to welcome Greg Clark, our new Lead Pastor, along with his wife Farrell and their kids, as Greg begins his ministry with us. This will be our first opportunity to greet the Clark’s as we step into this new season together with gratitude and anticipation. It’s fitting that their arrival coincides with the first Sunday of Advent—a season marked by hope, expectation, and the promise of new beginnings. In every generation, people have longed for light—something steady to guide them through the dark. Advent is a season for that longing, and a reminder that God has already answered it. Into a world of shadows, Christ came as the true Light—offering hope, healing, and the promise that darkness will never have the last word.

In James 4:13-5:6, we see a stark contrast between the world's values of control, self-interest, and recognition versus God's invitation to trust, generosity, and eternal significance. Join us as we explore these three life-changing exchanges that can transform how we live, serve, and find our worth. 

What does real faith look like in real life? The Book of James doesn’t pull any punches—it’s bold, practical, and unapologetically focused on how we live, not just what we believe. In a world full of noise, pressure, and conflicting voices, we’re invited to walk The Way of Wisdom—a path shaped by humility, integrity, and active faith. This week we’re looking at James 4:1-12, where we learn how conflict and pride reveal what rules the heart. The wisdom of James invites us to move from self-dependence to surrender - to trade ego for grace.
