A spontaneous road trip north of McCall, Idaho — past Burgdorf Hot Springs, where butterflies (her mother-in-law's lifelong sign of her father, who died when she was very young) filled the walkways — ended at the end of a long dirt road in Warren, Idaho, founded 1862, the fifth-oldest town in the state. After dinner at the only restaurant in town, a hike up a steep hill led to an untended cemetery in the middle of the forest, where Darren turned and said: "Someone needs help in this cemetery." Both were drawn to one weathered headstone — "Dolly M., beloved wife of Harry" — a young wife who died in the 1870s, likely in childbirth, with no surviving descendants and no one on earth looking for her. The research that followed revealed the miracle: Tia and Darren are related to this family — through Darren's grandfather, Lester Philip Allen, the very man his mother has always associated with butterflies. Dolly's baptism has now been done, her name spoken aloud for the first time in well over a century.
