Lindsay Clancy comes to court in a wheelchair, accompanied by nurses from Tewksbury State Hospital. She has a burst fracture of her C1 vertebra, a shattered thoracic and cervical spine, and every rib broken. The word the prosecution’s opening statement used for part of her injuries was superficial.The state’s case needs her to be a liar three times. She faked being sick. She staged the attempt. She invented the hallucinations after her lawyer coached her.
