Who is Shelly?

from Lucidesse - Inspiring Strokes of Genius · host Shelly

I find it odd to explain who I am because I’m not certain I know - I mean, which part of me defines who I am? Am I my experiences? Am I my personality? Am I my gender? Being a woman has certainly affected my life.Perhaps I’m my genetics? Genes a solid bet. Yet, even here, in an arena we’ve long believed was set-in-stone, we’re finding that our genes are not stone. This conundrum reminds me of a quote by Robyn Davidson. ”Real travel would be to see the world, for even an instant, with another’s eyes.”I’d love for you to see the world with my eyes, and I’d love to see the world with yours. This is the level of connection I seek in my life - but it isn’t easy, at least for me, because I must open myself…. open to you, open to seeing with your eyes. What I’m about to share isn’t fact, but neither is it fiction, it’s a suspension of those. What I share today is simply my personal truths. My birth in Hawaii, growing up on a farm in Wanship, living in a household which wasn't safe, and dragging my childhood into adulthood. Until I found a large, red book, which helped me heal.Music thanks:JuliusH from Pixabay
