Everyone's lives and experiences are different. Mike was a baby so who knows, he may have ended up being like the brilliant NikolaTesla or the horrible Adolph Hitler had he not been in the accident. The Swan has become more focused and manic. The Beaveman became even more morbid and dark. The brain is an amazing organ. You can truly see why the squad is so out there now. Who else would offer to surgically modify their friend, straighten their contracted arm, or bang a member with another members residual, protective layer? Only Gigi has not sustained a head injury, which makes you wonder, WTF is wrong with her if she didn't bonk her noggin?
