Why Am I So Angry All the Time? The Real Reason Behind Mom Rage

from The Rooted Mother | Christian Motherhood, Postpartum Healing & Biblical Encouragement · host Michelle

Why am I so angry all the time? If you’re a mom who keeps losing her temper, yelling at your kids, and then drowning in mom guilt afterward, you are not alone, and you are not broken. In this episode of The Rooted Mother, we’re going deeper than simply telling you to “stop yelling.” We’re talking about the real reasons behind mom rage and why anger can sometimes be a sign that your body, mind, and environment are overwhelmed. We’ll unpack the biological, psychological, and environmental factors that can contribute to anger, irritability, overwhelm, burnout, loneliness, resentment, and emotional exhaustion. We’ll also talk about the cycle so many moms find themselves trapped in: anger → guilt → shame → trying harder → anger again.I’ll share part of my own experience with depression and how it showed up not only as wanting to isolate myself, but also as anger and rage, and how God began teaching me that my struggle did not mean I was a bad mom or a failure. Most importantly, we’ll look at what Scripture says about anger, self-control, and God's grace, including:• James 1:19–20 - being quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger• Ephesians 4:26–27 - being angry without sinning and not giving the enemy a foothold• 2 Timothy 1:7 - God giving us a spirit of power, love, and self-control• Galatians 5:22–23 - the fruit of the Spirit• Lamentations 3:22–23 - God's mercies being new every morningIf you've ever thought, “I'm a terrible mom,” “I can't control my temper,” “My kids deserve better,” or “Maybe I'm just not meant to be a mom,” I hope this episode reminds you of something important:You are not your worst reaction. You are not your worst parenting day. And you are not beyond God's grace.God specifically called you to be their mom. You don't have to do motherhood perfectly, you were never meant to do it without Him.💕 FREE RESOURCE: Mom Guilt vs. God's TruthIf you're struggling with the thoughts that tell you you're failing, you're not doing enough, or you're not a good enough mom, grab my free Mom Guilt vs. God's Truth resource in the show notes. If this episode encouraged you, subscribe to The Rooted Mother and leave a review.
